Dr Monira Al-Arouj is a consultant physician, diabetologist and Assistant Director of the Dasman Diabetes Institute, Kuwait. She is a founding member of the Kuwait Diabetes Society (KDS) and the Gulf Group for the Study of Diabetes (GGSD), and a member of several International Diabetes Federation (IDF) committees on guidelines for diabetes management. She was a member of the organising committee for the 21st IDF Congress in Dubai 2011, and the scientific committee for the 22nd IDF Congress in Melbourne 2013. Dr Al-Arouj is deputy chair for the 23rd IDF Congress in Vancouver 2015, and she has been principal and co-investigator of several published and ongoing multicentre trials. She has worked on more than 35 publications, mainly in epidemiology and risk factors of diabetes in Kuwait and the Gulf region.

Dr. Al-Hamaq received his Master Degree in Public Health, from school of Medicine and Health Sciences, George Washington University, USA and his PH.D in the field of Public Health from University of Westminster, United Kingdom.
Currently he is the Executive Director of Qatar Diabetes Association - Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.
He was elected as the Regional Manger of the IDF/MENA Region on 2010.
He was the President of Diabetes in Asia Study Group (DASG) till 2011.
Dr. Al-Hamaq is a fellow of Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH) , a member of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and a member , a member of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) , the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists(AACE) and also the General Secretary for the Gulf Group for the Study of Diabetes (GGSD )
Dr. Al-Hamaq Participates in research activities with weill Cornell Medical College and Hamad Medical Corporation in the field of Diabetes, most of these studies have been published in international Journals.

Chaired the the organizing committee of the 21st IDF congress in Dubai 2011. More than 45 publications, mainly in epidemiology and risk factors of diabetes in Kuwait and the Gulf region.

Dr. Noor Al Busaidi completed her Internal Medicine Residency Program as well as her Endocrinology Fellowship at the George Washington Medical Center and Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington DC, United States of America. She graduated from Sultan Qaboos University Medical School in Oman.
Since 2004 she worked as a Senior Consultant Physician at the Royal Hospital of Oman. Additionally, she was the Head of Endocrinology & Diabetes Department at the Royal Hospital of Oman from 2007 until 2010 and the Chairperson of the Clinical Audit Committee from 2008 to 2010. From 2010 until present, Dr. Al Busaidi has been appointed as the Chairperson of the National Diabetes Management Service Development Committee at the Ministry of Health of Oman. Furthermore, Dr. Al Busaidi is the founder and president of the Oman Diabetes Association and a member of the American Association for Clinical Endocrinology and American Diabetes Association.
She was involved in the Oman Medical Specialty Board as assistant program director for 3 years, program director for 2 year and as chairmen of internal medicine residency program for 2 years. Dr. Al Busaidi has been a keynote speaker and a lecturer at many national and international conferences. Her areas of interests include, but not limited to, Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome, and Obesity with special focus on the improvement and implementation of healthy lifestyle that fights diabetes and Obesity pandemic.
She holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Arabian Gulf University, the Arab Board and the Irish Board in Family Medicine from the University of Ireland and a Higher Diploma and a Master in Diabetes.
Dr. Rabaa Al-Hajri has been the Coordinator of Central Diabetes Clinics in Primary Health Care and Public Health and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zallaq Health Center from 2010 to May 2015.
She is currently the Director of Dr. Rabaa Al-Hajri Center for Family Medicine and Diabetes and a lecturer at the Irish University / Bahrain Medical University.
Dr. Rabaa is a member of the Bahrain Diabetes Association and the Gulf Group for the Study of Diabetes.
The GGSD is a non-governmental, non-profitable, non-political group of medical and non-medical persons interested in research projects and launching educational programs related to diabetes care in Gulf Countries.
